Programming is a human activity. That question calls forth all of computer science from low-level machine design, through compilers, operating systems, programming and interaction design, to psychology and organisation theory. I will buy into this congruence buzzword, if this is the same Gerald Weinberg who wrote Psychology of Computer Programming. This book has only one major purpose—to trigger the beginning of a new field of study: computer programming as a human activity, or in short, the psychology of computer programming. (You might want to look at The Psychology of Computer Programming, written before most of these languages were invented, or their inventors were even born.
